PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the Township of Solon will hold a public hearing on February 27, 2019, at 7:30 p.m., at the Solon Township Hall, 15185 Algoma Ave., NE, Cedar Springs, Michigan, to consider and receive comments on several proposed zoning ordinance amendments. Among other matters, the proposed amendments would revise the definition of “Lot” and “Lot of Record” and would, except for certain lakefront lots in the R-1 District, revise the zoning ordinance to require that a dwelling which is to be located on a lot that is less than one acre in size must be served by a public or a state-approved community sewer system and a public or a state-approved community water supply system. Also, dwellings which will be located in a land development that would require platting under the Land Division Act, whether actually partitioned under the platting provisions of that Act, developed under the Condominium Act or otherwise developed, will be required to connect to a public or a state-approved community sewer system and a public or a state-approved community water supply system if such dwellings are located on lots that are one acre in size or less. These requirements would not apply to existing developments or lots and certain other exceptions are provided.
Additional amendments would revise the required minimum lot width for open space preservation developments and open space planned unit developments and would amend the criteria for use of open space in an open space planned unit development or an open space preservation development.
The proposed zoning ordinance amendments are available for review at the Township offices at the above-stated address. All interested persons may attend the public hearing and comment on the proposed amendments. Written comments may be submitted to the Township offices, at the above stated address, up to and including the time of the public hearing.
